This week, Year 4 had their first hockey and rugby festival! Brooke Priory School in Oakham hosted Copthill, along with three other local primary schools, where the children really showed off their talent.
Spirits were high all morning in anticipation of the fixture. Some rousing singing on the coach journey made sure that we were all in game-mode!
All teams played exceedingly well (you wouldn’t have known it was their first festival!) and the staff came away exceptionally proud of all the children.
No scores were kept, as festival rules applied, however this didn’t stop goal after goal, and try after try, being scored by our Copthillians.
Each and every child did the school, and themselves, extremely proud.
Huge thanks to Brooke Priory for hosting, and to all the parents who came to support! The children absolutely loved seeing you all there, and hopefully we’ll see you again in two-weeks’ time for the next Festival in Stamford!
Aside from the festival, Year 4 have been continuing with our ‘Law and Order, Rules and Rights’ topic, and are really nailing ‘PEE-ing all over their work’…
Don’t worry! Point, Evidence, and Explaining their balanced arguments, that is!
Animal Farm has started again for the year, and the children have been thoroughly enjoying looking after our goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, alpacas, and of course the dogs. Remember to grab some fresh chicken eggs from reception, whilst stocks last!
