Congratulations to our Year 4s who played superbly today at their second ever festival at Stamford School!
The teams were mixed ability, which allowed everyone to really showcase their skills and have a chance to play the oppositions’ higher and lower ability players. The girls proved today that at Copthill, technique and passion are soaring throughout the whole year group!
Numerous goals were scored in all teams, and it was clear to see that the girls thoroughly enjoyed their matches. Nina scored some fantastic goals, and Mimi was integral in getting the ball up to the other end of the pitch.
The boys have embraced their first year of contact rugby, and are taking to it like fish to water! We played five games of touch rugby, and one game of full contact. Zachary showed great initiative and was getting into space, and Samuel gave some outstanding tackles.
Despite the slight delay, match tea of hotdogs was a tasty end to an extremely positive day!
The children and staff are thoroughly looking forward to our next festival, which is after half term on the 2nd November. The Rugby will be at Stoneygate, and the Hockey will be back at Brooke Priory. We hope to see lots of parents there to cheer everybody on!
