World Maths Day!

Today, we had a fantastic time celebrating World Maths Day! The children were full of excitement and energy as we explored numbers through fun and engaging activities.

One of the highlights of the day was our House Quiz—a thrilling event where the children answered lots of timed maths questions with great enthusiasm. It was lovely to see their competitive spirit and teamwork shine!

We also enjoyed playing board games that involved dice. Our dice activity games were especially hilarious as we used multiple dice to create and add up sums. The laughter and learning went hand in hand!

Throughout the day, we immersed ourselves in number play. The children had fun counting spring animals, beans, and carrots—perfect for this time of year. Our tuff spot was a big hit, filled with numbers, soil, and real potatoes for a special number planting activity. Some of the potatoes had even started to sprout and grow roots, which sparked lots of curiosity and wonder!

It was a wonderful day of hands-on maths exploration, and we’re so proud of how engaged and enthusiastic all the children were. Well done, Reception!
