Our Pre Schoolers were all smiles as they bounded through the doors this week ready to begin their final term in Early Years and what a busy first week it has been! We have begun our new topic ‘A Ticket to Ride’ and started by thinking about trains. The children enjoyed hearing the story ‘The Train Ride’ and drawing pictures of what they would like to see out of a train window. Some even labelled their pictures with initial sounds. Outside, we have been building trains using our new construction materials that the teachers gathered over the holidays. In Forest School, we are continuing our all day sessions and have been building train tracks whilst exploring the woods. We were even lucky enough to fly kites on the field which linked nicely with our sound of the week: k.
