Some children from Brooke Priory took part in a kwik cricket match away against Brooke Priory on Wednesday 18th June.
It was a glorious afternoon of cricket in hot sunshine – perfect cricket weather!
The A team lost by 12 runs to a well-organised Brooke team. Losing 14 wickets was the difference for Copthill!
The B team played well, bowling very well taking quite a few wickets. Brooke also bowled well and put on a good score in a very closely fought match which ended in a draw.
The C team played very well with Ruben and Woody putting on 47 runs in their 4 overs! It was then a solid show across the board in bat. As we moved to fielding there was some great bowling from Shiv and Lyra and Noah and Shiv really worked hard and saved a lot of fours! Copthill took 11 wickets and it really made a huge contribution to the end score which resulted in a win for Copthill! Owen was awarded player of the match from Brooke for a solid performance across batting, bowling and wicket keeper. GAl
An outstanding win at Brooke Priory from the U11D team today. Both teams displayed wonderful sportsmanship and team play, encouraging each other well. Copthill took 9 wickets and scored some amazing 6s and 4s with a final victory of 227-173. IHe
