Due to fixture congestion Copthill only selected an elite team of U11 boys to make the short journey to Spalding for the annual cross country event at Ayscoughfee Hall. For some, the 2.2 km race was going to be their last cross country event in Copthill colours, so the boys were determined to produce the goods and leave the event on a high.
That they did! Leading from start to finish, Boogie delivered a masterclass of running to claim a much deserved first place. Not far behind Monty H showed his development this year as he flew round to an excellent 5th place, closely followed by Monty M in 8th, and Moss in 13th, both tearing up the finishing straight! The other Copthill runners showed equal amounts of determination to find personal bests in their performances, so an all round fantastic effort from the whole team, with plenty of smiles at the finish line once they had caught their breath!
To cap a memorable afternoon the boys were delighted to achieve their goal; awarded the trophy for first place team in their race. Congratulations boys! What a wonderful afternoon of running and achievement!
