We have been changing the purpose of our tie-dyed bandanas this week during our outdoor learning session. We used tataki-zome which is the Japanese method of hammering flowers or plant bashing. This involves using the force of a hammer to transfer the natural dyes from flowers and foliage to fabric. We found leaves, flowers and berries to add colour and detail to to our bandanas before we transformed them into treasure maps. We then marked the all important X and a trail to locate the treasure!
