Year 2 had a fabulous session with Libby Summers from Stamford Strings to launch the exciting Year 2 string project. The children were fascinated by the different parts of a violin. Using a feely bag with their eyes closed, children guessed what each part was before looking and checking. An expert luthier, Libby brought some pieces of a violin she is currently making which we were able to feel. We learnt so much about violins.
Libby taught us about the 3 L’s – Look, Listen and Love your instrument. Wow we can’t wait to get started learning to play our string instruments after half term!
