A group of year 6 boys travelled the short distance to Market Deeping Cricket Club on Monday 20th May.
The 8 boys participated in the local primary school Dynamos cricket tournament in Lincolnshire.
They all played superbly well and came away with the trophy! The first game saw them defeat Langtoft by 40 runs. The second was a much closer encounter as they narrowly beat Elsea Park by 10 runs. They then beat beat St Pauls by a huge score and their final group game saw them come up against high scoring Bourne Westfield, but put on a fantastic fielding display and scored very well off the bat to win by 45 runs.
The final was contested between Copthill & Market Deeping Community School. Copthill fielded first and were phenomenal! They took 11 wickets! Copthill went into bat already leading by 28 runs!! So no silly cricket was the message and they cam away very well-deserved winners!
Congratulations to all the boys who took part.
