Off we went to tidy up the apiary on a very hot day – what a super job we beekeepers have done with our loppers and secateurs! The hives are more accessible for us and the bees! Meanwhile a couple of beekeepers helped Mr Campbell to make more frames for the hives. All very busy beekeepers!
And then this happened!!!
The super was full of honey so once the frames were removed, we uncapped them using a sharp knife – (called an uncapping knife) then we placed them in the spinner. We took it in turns to turn the handle of the spinner. Once the frames were empty Mr Campbell released the cover on the spout and out poured the liquid gold! Here is the process in photos:
