NASA astronaut training has been in full swing in Pre-School this week. The children have been defying gravity as they’ve practiced moonwalking around the International Space Quad on specially designed moon-boot buckets, and at quite an impressive pace too! Our little astronauts have also been meticulously threading scrummy hoop space food, undergoing intensive flight training in the Pre-School space rocket and have been mathematically categorising asteroids by different 2D shapes.
Lots of time has also been spent carrying out very important scientific research, learning how to use Neil Armstrong’s original ‘Astronaut Glove Box’ (special boxes used by astronauts and scientists to study alien objects without causing any damage or harm) straight out of Apollo 11 as they’ve explored, investigated and reflected on the selection of foreign items within. You will never look at the common yellow Marigolds the same after this!
To complete their NASA astronaut training, the children took part in a game of “What’s the time Mission Control?”, fine-tuning their astronaut reaction times, coordination and speed whilst making it to outer space upon hearing ‘Blast Off!’ from Mission Control, Houston. I am pleased to inform you that all trainee astronauts graduated with flying colours so the next generation of NASA astronauts are ready and waiting for future space exploration!
