Year 5 have been learning about the process of mummification, including why they are called mummies!
After being entirely enthralled by the gorier details of organ removal… they set about investigating how the natron salt acts as a preservative to flesh by demoing on apples. We will leave these for a few weeks and check how they compare to ‘unmummified’ apple pieces.
We will then create our own horrible histories documentaries about the process to showcase their learning.
