Year 1 were excellent explorers in the Copthill woods as they searched for sticks, leaves and stones and anything else that they could find to represent the tens and ones when partitioning larger numbers. They were then set with the challenge of ordering their creations and inserting a forest school ‘greater than’ or ‘less than’ crocodile symbol. They had remembered that the hungry crocodile always eats the larger number! Well done year 1 on your excellent understanding of partitioning the numbers into tens and ones and representing them so accurately.
