What a joyous week we have had – sunny days have given us all the more reason to get outside and learn! Pancake day was upon us this week and where better to flip our homemade pancakes other than over an open fire:

In art the children had the chance to look at spring flowers in detail whilst undertaking some still life drawing. Their pieces were carefully drawn and were very beautiful.

We were looking at mass this week in maths. We used our knowledge to read scales to help us make banana bread. The session was led by a master baker within our class. Each table made a batch. Once they were cooked the whole year group had a taste and the verdict was unanimous – delicious!

Lots of great weighing skills here using estimation to find equal amounts to balance the buckets on the scales.

The children found items outside to make target amounts using digital scales. There was great elation once the target weight had been achieved!

We were learning about our amazing bodies this week in PSHE. We found out about the importance of our internal organs and what they do.

Look at our wonderful bee artwork. We printed a very lifelike background bubble wrap and paint, then added our amazing bees to make it look really authentic.
