What a wonderful week we have had in Reception. We have had tremendous fun celebrating “Festivals of Light” such as bonfire night and Diwali. We have talked about the significance of lights, decorations and fireworks to a diverse range of cultures. We have made some fantastic rangoli patterns, diya lamps and Diwali decorations. We have learnt about the costumes and festival food for Diwali celebrations.
In Forest School we learnt about fungi and the importance of being safe. We looked at the different types of fungi in the school grounds and used identification keys. We understood that some fungi can make our tummies poorly so not to touch them.
Friday was amazing as it was Children in Need day and we all dressed up in our home clothes. We learnt about why we were collecting money and the children that it would help. Year 5 were amazing with all their stalls and fun games at playtime. Well done Reception!
