In Pre-School this week we have been exploring capacity as part of our mathematics focus. We have been learning through water play outside and the children have had great fun engaging with their new water cascades that have been put together over half term. We have been demonstrating our understanding of terminology such as: ’empty’, ‘full’ and ‘half-full’. Amongst this, we have been exploring the beloved story of ‘Elmer’ as we begin our new topic focus: ‘Over the Rainbow’. We used the story as a springboard to think about differences. We discussed how we are all different and that this makes us special. We thought about how being different is something to be celebrated.
