Year 5 have been studying the Titanic disaster in English recently. As well as some incredible posters and newspaper reports, we have also carried out some detective work and debates including: ‘Whose fault was it that the Titanic sank?’ and ‘Should the Titanic wreckage be lifted from the ocean floor?’. We have been so impressed with the justifications for debating points and the way year 5 have listened to and build on the arguments of others.
