To start your journey at Copthill, please call our Admissions team on 01780 757 506 or email admissions@copthill.com

Prospectus

We can then send you a prospectus, and find a time that suits for you to visit our unique campus. Alternatively please read our digitial prospectus here.

Registration

Once you have received your prospectus and visited the school, the next stage in the admissions process is Registration. Please complete the Family Registration Form and return it with the non-refundable fee of £120.00 which will ensure your children/child is included on our waiting lists for their year group.

Taster Day

Once a Registration Form is returned and a place is available, we will invite your child to the school for a Taster Day. They will spend either the morning or whole day with the year group they are likely to join when they come to Copthill.

References and Reports

Copthill School will request references and/or reports from your child’s current school (if applicable) before they join us for their Taster Day. This is to ensure we can really begin to get to know your child.

Offer of a place

Once we are in a position to offer your child a place we will contact you. This is usually done following the Taster Day. At this point we will request confirmation from you that you definitely wish to take up the place.

Confirmation of a Place

This is an agreement to the School’s Terms and Conditions and involves the payment of the £600 acceptance fee (including VAT).  A proportion of this is returned at the end of the pupil’s final term, subject to the terms and conditions.

Admission for children with special educational needs (SEND)

Copthill School endeavours to accept all pupils, regardless of any disability (SEND) of which it is aware. At the point of application, and thereafter, prospective parents must fully disclose any learning support assessment or identified need, medical condition or disability, which could require specialist treatment, support or equipment, and any behavioural or disciplinary issues. This also includes consideration of English as an additional language (EAL). In assessing any pupil or prospective pupil the school may take such advice and require such assessments as considered appropriate.

This is to ensure that the School can provide the right environment for the child’s academic and pastoral needs. The life of the School is enhanced by inclusive policies but equal importance must be given to ensuring that no pupil’s education is impaired.

We consider all children for admission to the school who have the ability and aptitude to access an academic curriculum. Pupils whose SEND are suited to the curriculum and standards of behaviour in the classroom environment are welcome provided that we have the appropriate resources and facilities to offer them the support they require. Please note that specialist, behavioural and/or disciplinary support may incur additional fees.

Subject to this, the School will be sensitive to any requests for confidentiality. The School will arrange special early admissions meetings with parents of disabled prospective pupils to discuss special arrangements.
