As the school year comes to a close, our wonderful Year 1 children have been reflecting on everything they have experienced and achieved and we celebrated through art, with parents to give a helping hand.
For this special end-of-year project, we invited parents to join us in the classroom for a creative session filled with memories and imagination. Together, children and adults created stunning galaxy-themed backgrounds, representing just how far the children have travelled on their Year 1 journey.
On top of these starry skies, each child added a photo of themselves in school, surrounded by carefully written sentences describing their favourite memories from Year 1. From exciting school trips and fun on the playground, to proud moments in reading, writing, and maths; every memory was a reminder of how much they have grown.
It was a joy to see families working side by side, painting, writing, chatting, and smiling (and adding the glitter and sequins), as we all celebrated a year full of learning, friendships, and achievements. We are so proud of our Year 1 children. Well done, Year 1, you truly are stars, and we are sure that your galaxy of memories will be treasured for many years to come.
