Some children from year 6 were selected to represent Copthill at Oakham on Friday 13th June.
They played 3 matches during the day to determine who they would face in the final match to see where they finished. They played Wisbech GS in their first match and won convincingly. They then faced Ratcliffe and also beat them in a very closely fought match by 9 runs.
After lunch they came up against a very good Purse School, losing by 12 runs and who also went on to win the tournament.
Copthill finished 4th overall and the team felt a little deflated to not have been in the final, having been in 1st place before the final game and ended up 3rd as they were beaten to 2nd place on runs scored by Ratcliffe College, who they obviously beat in their second match.
The team can most certainly hold their heads high as they performed brilliantly on the day.
