Ahoy there, parents! We’ve had another exciting week in Reception as we sailed into the deep blue sea, exploring the wonders of the ocean. This week’s adventures were inspired by the delightful book Commotion in the Ocean, which introduced us to all sorts of fascinating sea creatures. The children loved discovering the different animals that live beneath the waves and learning about their unique characteristics.
As part of our exploration, we researched turtles – their habitats, life cycle, and how they navigate the oceans. The children were especially engaged as they learned how turtles hatch from eggs, make their way to the water, and travel vast distances in their lifetime. To bring our learning to life, we created our own clay turtles, carefully molding their shapes and adding intricate details.
This week was not only fun but full of discovery, and we can’t wait to see where our next underwater adventure will take us! Keep an eye out for more updates on our learning journey.
Happy diving everyone! 🐢🌊
