Budding scientists!

Thank goodness it is Friday – it has been an exciting but busy week!

On Monday, the children deepened their understanding of the human digestive system by re-creating it using different items to represent the different organs. In groups, they mashed up food and replicated the processes involved as food passes through the mouth, oesophagus, stomach, small and large intestine and finally the rectum. Things were messy but great fun! Hopefully your children have told you about this already but if not, have a look at the photos below!

During the week, both maths classes have been doing GOAL. Mrs Morris’ class were making up routines to do whilst reciting chosen times tables. Everyone agreed that doing the routine at the same time helped them concentrate on the times table and remember it more easily as they associated the multiples with specific parts of the routine.

Mrs Underwood’s class were embedding their understanding of division.
