Some of the boys from Y5&6 were lucky enough to represent the school football team at the regional ISA competition in Southend-on-Sea.
There were schools from Essex and Chelmsford and other Eastern areas of the country who were all competing to finish in the top 4 and go on to represent the East at the National finals at St George’s Park!
The boys started off brilliantly, winning the first 2 matches very convincingly 5-0 and 3-1. They then drew 1-1 conceding in the final minute. Then lost narrowly 2-1, then drew again to a team they should have definitely beat, but conceding a penalty meant they drew. They then lost to the eventual winners of the tournament, Finborough 2-0.
They can be extremely proud of their achievements and on another day, the 2 matches drawn would’ve been wins and we would have gone on to the National at St George’s Park. But unfortunately it wasn’t to be and football can be a funny old game!
Well done to all the boys who took part.
Mr Smith
