This week, some of our year 4 children presented their manifestos to the rest of the class about what would make them the best person for the school council role. They were fantastic at clearly explaining how they would help their fellow students and what changes they would propose to the school day. Some suggestions ranged from having pancakes every Friday to having a school pet in each class, but everyone was clear that they would support their peers and listen to the ideas of others – well done everyone who delivered a manifesto. The children went to the polling station (library) on Thursday to cast their votes and enjoyed having the opportunity to have their say in the democratic process!
In maths, we have been continuing our work on place value by looking at number lines to 1,000 and 4U got outside and learnt by drawing number lines on the playground with chalk! Meanwhile, 4M were busy making place value robots using ones, tens and hundreds as body parts, totalling up each part to arrive at a whole number.
