Hands on geography this week with Year 6 investigating the formation of mountains with practical experiments. Independent explorers seeing the layering and hardening process of lava to form volcanic mountains; balloons to understand dome mountains, pushing materials and breaking (and eating!) chocolate krispie cakes to see the movement of plates and pouring water in sand to see how plateau mountains form through erosion.
