Year 4 have been busy creating amazing animations and have transformed into fabulous animators! Their task was to develop an unused storyline by Nick Park, the creator of Wallace and Gromit, and turn it into their very own animation of The Wrong Trousers. In groups, the children quickly set to work drawing a comic strip storyline before embarking upon making their characters out of plasticine and designing sets and backgrounds!
Armed with some fantastic, new stop-motion animation technology (thank you Mr Teesdale), the children began their short films by taking a series of photographs for each frame. Once they were happy with their overall result, they chose sound effects and music to make the film come alive. We were so proud by how patient each group was and how they persevered when filming didn’t quite go as expected! They worked brilliantly in their teams, sharing roles and supporting each other throughout.
Well done Year 4 – we have some budding animators in our midsts!
