Here we are back again after a week of rest! Straight back into our new topic Inter-nation Media Station. We have been looking at the development of our communication systems over time and contemplating the reasons for and against being famous. One task was to become cryptographers as we made signalling flags to emulate the skill of using semaphores. We were pretty good at it! We were amazed to learn that such messages could be received over 155 miles!
We have had a lovely time in the woods this week – a little wet but we enjoyed our new shelter! We used the lever technique to snap large branches into sticks ready for the fire and learnt a new skill of finger knitting and God’s eye weaving to decorate a winter tree. As you can see there have been some lovely crafts made for a tree in the wood – it will of course soon decorate itself with new growth in the spring months. We loved reading a special story all about this!
Spring is in the air! Look at our beautiful still life drawings/paintings of a beautiful selections of spring flowers:
We made the most of our outdoor space in our maths lessons this week. We were balancing scales using cubes, classroom and natural resources. We also spent time working out and reading the intervals for differing scales.
