Our History

More than 50 years ago, around a kitchen table at a farm just outside Uffington, Copthill School was born, due to the educational vision of founder Anne Teesdale.

It has now grown into a thriving independent school for children up to 11 years old on a 350 acre site that includes a forest school, high-tech classrooms, superb sport facilities and even a farm.

Yet despite the impressive development of the school, at its heart, the philosophy of a close-knit family community allowing children to be inquisitive, and giving them to the skills to be independent, capable individuals remains the same.
